Built to high precision standards, the LTF5 flat bed lab-TURN CNC lathe is built on a heavy cast base and stand.  This LTF5 has additional features that qualify this rugged, robust lathe as a production grade CNC lathe.

The added advantage of this lathe is it's narrow foot print that allows it to fit through a 3' door.  This narrow guage lathe is perfect for small shop settings where you've been wondering how you'll fit a machine in.

The heavy, 33" wide cast base on this flat bed CNC lab-TURN lathe weighs over a ton.  Get real-world industrial precision results from a machine that has a foot print of under 20 square feet.

The LTF5 has a closed loop system and servo drives - allowing for rigid tapping and spindle location ID.  This lathe comes standard with the Siemens 808D CNC Control with conversational programming and on-screen programming assists.

The LTF5 flat bed lab-turn CNC lathe has the same components and features of our other industrial grade machines - like Schneider electronics, Siemens motors and drives and PMI balls screws.

The difference with this machine is that it is designed to fit in small places.  Great for small R & D shops or production settings that are in small, narrow spaces.  Also works well for education and home shops

Lathe Machine Features
Built for Production - Fits Through a 3’ Door Heavy foundation, precision components and quality design assure production capabilities similar to bigger machines. Compact design fits into small places - base casting is 34" wide. Good for labs, schools, garages, etc.
Heavy Castings with Cast Base Compact machine design is highly rigid and weighs over 3200 lbs. Very high weight-to-work cube ratio, assuring higher precision and quality results, even when taking heavy cuts. Amazing weight and precision for small floor space requirement.
Full Enclosure Machine is completely enclosed with a sliding front access door, and easy access panels on tailstock end, and machine back side. Coolant and chips are enclosed and properly recycled. Electromagnetic lock keeps operator safe.
1.18” Spindle Bore/5” Chuck Comes standard with 5” manual 3-jaw chuck and A2-4 spindle nose. Optional pneumatic system or hydraulic chuck system available. Adaptable for an automatic bar feeder, and live tooling.
Quick Change Tool Post Quick change tool post allows for convenient tooling changes by using lower cost standard sized tooling. Useful in small part run operations, machine shops and prototyping - situations where you are changing tooling more often.
Manual Tail Stock With nearly 7” of travel on the tail stock and 3.2” of quill travel.
Solid Box Ways Traditional way design has several advantages - including the ability to take heavy cuts and handling heavier work pieces. Induction hardened and ground for precision and long life.
Center Mounted Ball Screw Eliminates torque on the ball screw - improving dynamic properties of the machine and increasing component life. Also provides better protection of the ball screw.
Telescoping Covers Stainless steel telescoping guards provide maximum protection of guideways and ball screw from chips and coolant.
Tool Box and Tools A set of the basic tools required for maintenance are included with this lathe. Gives you what you need to get your machine up and running, and for routine maintenance.
Foundation Pads Heavy machined leveling pads that adjust the height to keep your machine aligned and balanced. Solid multi-point contact with shop floor reduces vibrations and increases accuracy.

Safety/Operation Features
Ergonomic Control Panel and Operator Interface Machine control panel adjusts and rotates up to 90 degrees. High tactile buttons, manual pulse generator, and convenient cycle start buttons improve operator convenience, efficiency, and safety.
Manual Pulse Generator Handheld pendant that allows operator to be independent from the main control panel. The rotating knob generates pulses that are sent to the machine control, allowing the operator to move the lathe in a predetermined distance wiht each click of the knob detent.
Automatic Lubrication System Lubricates all wear points during machine operation at continuous time intervals. Benefits include: reduced labor, material costs and significant extension of bearing life.
Programmable Coolant System Control coolant flow at the control panel using standard M-Codes. Cycle times can be significantly reduced, while feeding and cutting speeds can be significantly increased. Proper cooling extends life of cutting tools.
Work Light Focused lighting elements increase operator efficiency and reduce fatigue. This light is flicker resistant, waterproof, and resistant to both cooling and lubricants. It is also resitant to impacts and vibrations. 
Tri-Color Alarm Light Green light turns red when control alarm recognizes a machining error or machine malfunction. An operator standing away from the machine is visually alerted by the activated alarm light when machining cycle is finished or machine errors out.

Closed Loop System System directly monitors motor position and velocity in real time. The system then automatically makes corrections to assure correct tool positioning. High accuracy and maximum parts quality ensures a minimal rejection rate. Also assures smoother surface finishes.
